(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait city june 23 (kuna): the cabinet has consented to a recommendation determining kd 15000 as a symbolic price for housing plots at al- sabahiya and abu haliefa housing projects. the cabinet has asked the public authority of housing welfare (pahw) to take necessary procedures in this regard but stipulated that beneficiaries should not concede exchange or sell housing plots before 10 years of obtainment minister of state for cabinet affairs and acting minister of justice sheikh mohammad abdullah al-mubark al-sabah said following a weekly cabinet meeting held at seif palace on monday under chairmanship of his highness the prime minister sheikh jaber mubarak al-hamad al- sabah. the move is mainly intended to reduce burdens on those citizens who really deserve housing welfare and to fulfill the pahw's vision to find a fast-track solution to the housing problem the minister said.
also during the meeting the cabinet welcomed the outcomes of the recent visit to kuwait by lebanese prime minister tammam salam which aimed to deepen cooperative relations between both countries in all fields.
the ministers then listened to a briefing from first deputy prime minister and foreign minister sheikh sabah khaled al-hamad al-sabah on the findings of his participation in the recent meeting of the organization of islamic cooperation (oic) foreign ministers in jeddah. afterwards minister of information and minister of state for youth affairs sheikh salman sabah salem al- humoud al-sabah elaborated on suggestions purposed to revamp the business atmosphere and encourage young people to join the labor market.
the cabinet then approved the appointment of khaled abdullah al-seif as new director general of the general administration of customs and ahmad zeid al-muteiri as assistant undersecretary of his highness the prime minister's diwan. the ministers finally discussed issues put on the agenda of the national assembly and political reports on the latest arab and international developments.
