Taiwan's sales orders up 4.7 percent in May


(MENAFN) According to Taiwan's statistics, the country's outbound sales orders reached USD38.02 billion in May, up 4.7 percent over a year earlier, Xinhua reported. In the January-May period, the outbound sales orders increased annually by 4.4 percent, hitting USD181.64 billion, which is a new record high. The fast growth was attributed to sales of electronic products and portable devices, which totaled USD9.52 billion, a 12.6 percent increase over a year ago. A statistic authority official said that June's outbound sales orders are estimated to exceed 5 percent due to the recovering global economy.
