(MENAFN - Arab News) Al-tayyar travel group has been appointed general sales agent (gsa) in saudi arabia by jet asia airways.
the agreement was signed by saud bin muhammad saleh al-arifi deputy ceo-operations al-tayyar travel group and jacob saba president jet asia airways. in its new role as gsa the group will support sales of jet asia airways in the region.
president jacob saba said: 'al-tayyar group is clearly the best in the kingdom and our decision to join forces with the group was an easy one. we are delighted to work with the best travel companies around the world." the appointment comes after the announcement of jet asia's planned scheduled service to jeddah set to commence in july 2014.
al-tayyar travel group has expanded its operations vastly this year. the group acquired a 100 percent stake in british firm co-operative travel management company along with a 70 percent stake in egyptian tourism and services company al hanouf valued at sr41 million.
the group also celebrated the acquisition of elegant resorts in the uk and a successful five-year agreement with nepalese airlines.
additionally al-tayyar travel group has opened new offices across the mena region to serve growing customer demands.
