ADIPEC Awards Open for Nominations


(MENAFNEditorial) Prestigious Awards Recognize Oil and Gas Innovation in Middle East and North Africa Across Production, Sustainability, and Diversity Abu Dhabi, UAE – 22 June 2014 – Oil and gas companies across the region can now enter the industry-setting ADIPEC Awards 2014, organizers have announced. Recognizing excellence in oil and gas projects and departments, and establishing benchmarks for the region's success, the ADIPEC Awards are held this year under the theme of "Excellence in Energy 2014". All award entries will close on 1 August 2014, with the shortlist announced on 13 October 2014. Winners and runners-up will be announced at the ADIPEC Gala Awards Dinner at Emirates Palace on ADIPEC's opening night, 10 November 2014. The ADIPEC Awards are a keystone of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2014, one of the world's top three energy events. Mr Ali Khalifa Al Shamsi, the ADIPEC 2014 Chairman, and Strategy & Coordination Director at ADNOC, said: "Recognition of Innovation across the MENA region lies at the heart of the ADIPEC Awards. Spanning seven key categories, the awards have grown in prestige and importance and are recognized as a truly impartial reflection of reaching the pinnacle of success and excellence across the energy landscape." Posting strong growth since launching in 2010, the ADIPEC Awards 2013 received more than 290 entries from more than 20 countries and 80 organizations, whilethe ceremony drew more than 800 senior energy officials. This year, oil and gas companies can enter seven categories, including: Best Oil and Gas Project; Best Oil and Gas Innovation or Technology; Best Oil and Gas Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Projector Initiative; Best Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative; Empowerment of Women in Oil and Gas Industry; Young ADIPEC Engineer; and Best Oilfield Services Company. Mr Abdul Munim Saif Al Kindy, Chairman, ADIPEC Awards, and Chief Executive Officer, ADCO, said: "The ADIPEC Awards celebrate the excellence of our industry. New for the 2014 edition, the ADIPEC Oilfield Services Company Award recognizes exceptional service to the region's oil and gas industry, based on ethical and sustainable practice, adherence to timelines, cost control, and overall value. Winners are based on a select jury of 26 representatives from the region's leading energy companies, academic institutions, and professional associations. Inspiring women to enter the energy industry is jurist HE Fatima Obaid Al Jaber, a Board Member of the Abu Dhabi-based industrial conglomerate Al Jaber Group. "The Empowerment of Women in Oil and Gas Industry award is a step in the right direction, enabling companies that are encouraging females to join the industry to gain respect and recognition from their peers for their efforts," she said. ADIPEC 2014, celebrating its 30th anniversary, will be held from 10-13 November 2014 under the theme of "Challenges and Opportunities for the Next 30 Years".
