Russian Foreign Minister to Visit Armenia


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Scow june 22 (qna) - russian foreign minister sergei lavrov will pay an official visit to armenia on june 22-23 the russian foreign ministry reports.

lavrov is expected to meet armenia's top leaders and hold talks with his counterpart edvard nalbandyan according to russia's (itar-tass) news agency.

"the sides will continue a meaningful bilateral dialogue on gradual development of allied interaction and strategic partnership between the two countries" the russian foreign ministry went on to say.

special attention will be paid to the implementation of agreements reached at the top and high levels during president vladimir putin’s visit to armenia on december 2 2013.

the russian foreign ministry noted that russian-armenian cooperation developed in many areas and was on the rise.

lavrov's visit is believed to give a new impetus to developing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

the armenian foreign ministry says in turn that the talks will focus on ways of deepening russian-armenian allied relations and strategic partnership and armenia's accession to the eurasian union.

the sides will also discuss the efforts of the co-chairs of the osce minsk group designed to advance the settlement of the karabakh problem the armenian foreign ministry reports. (qna)
