the khalifa bin zayed al nahyan foundation has completed preparations for its iftar project across the uae and plans to distribute 65000 iftar meals a day throughout the forthcoming holy month of ramadan at 110 mosques and location across the country announced mohammed hajji al khouri director-general of the foundation.
the iftar meals each worth dh21 will be prepared by more than 600 ladies in coordination with abu dhabi food control authority (adfca) and health departments of municipalities of the northern regions to ensure maximum public health safety al khouri said.
more than 500 volunteers most of them sons of the emirati ladies involved in preparing the ramadan charity meals will take part in the distribution of the meals al khouri noted.
civil defence departments across the uae will ensure public safety during the preparation and transportation of meals.
now in its fifth year the foundation’s iftar project aimed at helping national underprivileged families increase their income urged government departments and corporations to employ national ladies to prepare meals for their iftar initiatives. these include ministry of presidential affairs and abu dhabi’s oil companies.
al khouri expressed the foundation’s gratitude towards the president his highness shaikh khalifa bin zayed al nahyan general shaikh mohammed bin zayed al nahyan crown prince of abu dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the uae armed forces and shaikh mansour bin zayed al nahyan deputy prime minister and minister of presidential affairs for enabling the success of the khalifa bin zayed foundation’s charity projects in the uae and overseas.
