(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) H E (Maj Gen) Lungile Chris Pepani, Ambassador of South Africa to the sultanate unveiled a plaque at the Azzan bin Qais International School recently, acknowledging the role played by South African teachers in its growth and success.
''South African teachers are held in high esteem at the school because their prime purpose is to invest soundly in students' education and to unearth their wealth of talent as they are the most precious treasures of any nation,'' said H E Pepani.
He added that a teacher's wealth of talent and pervasive experience can only be outmastered by sincerity towards his/her students.
''A great teacher cuts right through the veneer of his students and exposes their forté and turns their weaknesses into strengths,'' H E Pepani said, adding, ''South African teachers are the torch bearers of Nelson Mandela's dream to respect the traditions, cultures and beliefs in the country they teach and to nurture each child's inherit interest that will catapult him to his ultimate destiny.
''I'm proud of the committed South African teachers because they are the crown jewels of the community.''
Talking about the role of South African teachers at the school, Danny Harrison, the principal said that they are dedicated because they believe that education is to build, share and to make a difference.&nb
