Yemen, donors to assess pledges

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Yemeni government and donors are set to meet here on Monday to assess the implementation of financial pledges to Yemen, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammad al-Sa'adi said here Saturday. The meeting is part of a series of regular meetings decided by both sides in order to evaluate commitment to pledges announced by donors in the Riyadh conference and the Group of Friends of Yemen in New York, the minister said in news remarks. They will discuss the implementation of commitments enshrined in the Mutual Accountability Framework (MAF), he said, adding that the Yemeni government fulfilled many of its obligations. But, the Yemeni minister urged those donors who have failed to honor all pledges to do soon in order to accelerate procedures to help Yemen achieve development and address the current challenges.
