Germany, Ghana tied 2-2 in '14 World Cup

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Germany and Ghana came out with a 2-2 tie in city of Forteleza in Brazil on Saturday, leaving Germany at the top of Group G with four points from two games in the 2014 World Cup. A win for the US against Portugal in Manaus tomorrow would give the Americans sole possession of top spot. A fast-paced first half of German possession and Ghanaian counterattacks was overshadowed by a fiery second half, especially in the 51st minute, when Mario Gotze scored after a fine cross from Thomas Muller. Ghana did not wait much long before coming back to level the score with Andre Ayew header in the 54th minute. The Black Stars kept attacking the Germans and crowned their efforts in the 63rd minute with a goal by Asamoah Gyan after a poor German defense. However, veteran striker Miroslav Klose, who came from the bench, had another say when he rose for a corner, heading in Germany's equalizer in the 71st minute. Germany will face the US on June 26, while Ghana will travel to Brasilia to play Portugal.
