(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Bul june 19 (qna) - a group of militants attacked the nato vehicle parking lot in torkham one of the major border crossings between afghanistan and pakistan thursday morning local officials said.
a spokesman for the border police forces edris momand said the attack was carried out by three suicide bombers who were killed following clashes with the afghan security forces according to (khaama press).
in the meantime another official said a civilian was killed during the clashes and nearly ten vehicles were torched by the militants.
the taliban militants group claimed responsibility behind the attack and said several afghan forces were killed or injured during the clashes.
taliban spokesman zabiullah mujahid said several supply vehicles were also torched by the taliban fighters.
however local officials denied the claims by taliban group regarding the casualties of the afghan security forces. (qna)
