Tajik Ambassador lauds cultural exchanges with Kuwait

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Ambassador of Tajikistan to Kuwait Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydov lauded on Wednesday the level of relations between his country and Kuwait in various fields, especially cultural one. The distinctive Tajik-Kuwaiti ties were crowned by Tajikistan President Emomali Rhamon's visit to Kuwait in 2013 by the invitation of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Zubaydov said in statements to the press here. The visit led to the signing of a number of agreements in several areas, particularly in the cultural domain, he pointed out. The Tajik diplomat's statement came on the sidelines of opening of the Tajik traditional products and photographs exhibition, marking the start of a musical evening by the Tajik national troupe for folklore dance, which comes within events of the second day of the 17th International Music Festival here. He stressed importance of cultural exchanges in bringing peoples closer to each other and supporting bilateral relations, adding that the Tajik exhibition and musical evening represent an opportunity for the Kuwaiti society to get acquainted with Tajikistan's traditional musical and cultural aspects, handcrafts such as jewelries, accessories, carpets, and touristic attractions. Meanwhile, the Tajik national troupe for folklore dance, formed in 1978, presented during its musical evening various dance musical segments that showcased different aspects of Tajik culture, in addition to popular dances inspired by Persian, Afghan, Indian, and Russian heritages.
