Qatar Petroleum awards USD346m contracts


(MENAFN) Qatar Petroleum (QP) has awarded Gulf Drilling International Ltd QSC (GDI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Gulf International Services (GIS), contracts for the provision of offshore drilling rig services, according to the Peninsula Qatar. Work on the project, which worth USD346 million, is scheduled to be started in the fourth quarter of the current year and will be delivered from Keppel Fels Shipyard in Singapore. Ibrahim J Al Othman, Chief Executive Officer of GDI, said: "GDI recognises the value of the partnership and support it receives from Qatar Petroleum. Working with QP has granted us the chance to develop our skills, technologies and competencies to be a world-class drilling service company..."
