Eurozone job vacancy up 1.7 percent in Q1


(MENAFN) The European Union (EU) statistical office (Eurostat) said that the job vacancy rate in the eurozone increased to 1.7 percent in the first quarter, Xinhua reported. The January-March increase is compared to 1.6 percent recorded in both the fourth and first quarters of 2013. The highest job vacancy rates in the first quarter of 2014 were recorded in Germany with 2.9 percent, Britain 2.1 percent and Belgium 2.0 percent, Eurostat said. Meanwhile, the lowest rates were registered in Cyprus 0.2 percent, Poland 0.4 percent and Latvia 0.5 percent.
