UAE's Etihad Cargo throughput up 31 percent in May

(MENAFN) Etihad Cargo is now one of the world's top 10 performing air cargo operators after posting an increased throughput in the last two months, April and May, according to Gulf News. Etihad Cargo moved 48.869 tons of cargo around the world in May, posting a 31 percent rise than the same month 2013, and 9 percent higher than in April. Kevin Knight, Etihad Airways' Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, said: "Moving onto the list of world's top 10 is a great achievement and our intention is to continue building our business, create value for our partners, and support our customers." He said the impressive figures were driven by better capacity utilization on routes to and from the Netherlands, US and India, more bellyhold capacity to and from Munich, New York and Chengdu, enhanced scheduling, optimized connections, and a robust charter business.
