Lebanon Ireland Voice Concern over Conflict in Syria


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Irut june 17 (qna) - lebanese prime minister tammam salam met here on monday with irish prime minister enda kenny.

during the meeting the two sides voiced deep concern over the tragedy of the conflict in neighboring syria and the serious economic social political and security impact on lebanon.



they expressed the readiness of their governments to develop and strengthen bilateral relations in the political economic cultural and tourism fields for the interests of both countries.

the two sides also agreed on the importance of encouraging the private sector in both countries to contribute to these efforts.



as an expression of his desire to strengthen bilateral relations kenny invited salam to visit ireland.

the irish official confirmed both ireland's and the european union's unwavering support to the sovereignty unity stability and peace of lebanon.

kenny announced the additional assistance of $2.7 million to support the influx of thousands of refugees from syria. (qna)
