US economy to grow 2 percent in 2014: IMF

(MENAFN) The International Monetary Fund (IMF) cut its projections for the US economy in 2014 to 2 percent due to a weak-first-quarter performance, Xinhua reported. The IMF suggested the US government should start making reforms for uncertainties and long-term growth, as better forecasts lie ahead. "We have revised downwards our growth forecast for 2014 down to 2 percent. That is largely attributable to the poor results of Q1, which are largely not entirely weather-related," IMF chief said. In the IMF annual report, the monetary maintained its 3 percent growth expectation for 2015, the highest annual rate for the country since a decade.
