Singapore Airlines passenger load factor up 74.9 percent in May


(MENAFN) Singapore Airlines, one of the most comfortable airlines in the world, registered a passenger load factor of 74.9 percent in May, higher by 0.3 percent than May 2013, Xinhua reported. The cargo said that passenger carriage, measured in revenue passenger kilometers, increased 2.5 percent on year, while the number of passengers carried edged up 3.5 percent to 1.52 million. Capacity injection, which is measured in available seat kilometers, was up 2 percent compared to the same period a year earlier. "The operating environment continues to remain challenging. Capacity will continue to be adjusted accordingly to better match market demand," the carrier said.
