Pakistan SC admits plea on Musharraf's travel abroad


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The supreme court (sc) has admitted for hearing a petition filed against sindh high court (shc) decision against removal of former president pervez musharraf�s name from the exit control list (ecl) and directed the sc office to fix it for hearing in the ongoing week.

a 3-member bench presided over by justice saqib nisar took up the case for hearing on monday.

during the hearing justice saqib remarked “fixing cases in any bench for hearing is domain of chief justice of pakistan (cjp). we will hear it when it comes to us. on the other hand the original petition is not with us for hearing.”

justice asif saeed khosa remarked “sindh high court (shc) has given 15 days time then what is the need to be so hasty. we will hear it in next week.”

attorney general of pakistan told the court that the matter was of public interest therefore it should be heard as soon as possible. — online
