Arab delegates condemn terrorism in Iraq


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Arab League's permanent delegates openly condemned all terrorist acts committed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), locally known as Daesh, against Iraqi civilians nationwide. All terrorist practices that pose a threat to Iraq's territorial integrity and social fabric must be condemnable, the Council of the Arab League said in a final communiquØ£© following an extraordinary meeting of the Arab League's permanent delegates. All Iraqi political forces and groups should be engaged in national reconciliation through serious comprehensive dialogue on necessary moves to overcome the current crisis in Iraq and to wipe out threats to Iraq's security, stability and territorial integrity, it requested. The delegates reiterated support for Iraq's sovereignty, stability and national unity, while voicing emphatic opposition to interference in this Arab country's internal affairs, the concluding statement added. Arab foreign ministers are set to meet in Jeddah this week on the sidelines of a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, focusing on concrete steps to handle insurgency in Iraq, according to the statement.
