(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh met on Sunday with the visiting delegation of Penal Reform International (PRI), led by Taghreed Jabr - the PRI Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
During the meeting, Minister Al-Sabeeh highlighted the importance of the exchange of expertise between international and regional institutions and organizations in promoting social care and criminal justice.
She appreciated the PRI role in communicating with concerned bodies to improve their performance, as well as viewing what they provide of legal and information services.
Minister Al-Sabeeh expressed hope in that the PRI delegation attains its desired goal during its current visit to Kuwait.
For her part, Jabr said the visit of her delegation aims at viewing Kuwait's pioneering experience in fields of juvenile justice and ways of dealing with them, as well as to have it acquainted with the international standards for reformative institutions and its implementation of these standards in accordance to international agreements.
Jabr praised Kuwait's efforts and services in providing reformative laws that contribute directly in limiting juvenile's negative phenomena.
PRI has been working in the region since 1991. Its regional office in Amman, Jordan, opened in 2005 and its team currently operates in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and Kuwait.
