(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Sunday called for bolstering of relations and cooperation with South Africa, particularly in political, cultural and economic domains.
Rouhani, during a meeting with visiting South African Foreign Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, said there was a strong political will by governments and peoples of the two countries to boost the relations.
Rouhani, cited by official media, called for strengthening cooperation in the oil and mining sectors, in addition to finance and banking.
He commended South Africa for its positions via-a-vis the Iranian nuclear program.
Nkoana-Mashabane supported the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 group, and criticized the "unjust" embargo on the Islamic Republic.
She said Iran and South Africa could cooperate in health, sciences, technology, pharmaceuticals, farming and railroads.
