Park to Visit Three Central Asian Nations


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Oul june 15 (qna) - south korea's president park geun-hye will embark on a six-day tour to three central asian nations on monday in order to expand economic cooperation and promote her vision of a united eurasia.

the president will first visit uzbekistan from monday to wednesday kazakhstan from wednesday to friday and turkmenistan from saturday and sunday according to korea's (kbs world) website.

during her state visit to uzbekistan park will hold summit talks with president islam karimov on tuesday to discuss measures to enhance the strategic partnership between the two countries.

their discussions are expected to focus on economic cooperation including the development of the surgil gas reserves and the construction of a combined thermal power plant in talimarjan.

the two leaders will also discuss ways to expand cooperation in renewable energy and science and technology.

from there park will pay a state visit to kazakhstan on thursday to take part in a summit with president nursultan nazarbayev.

during their meeting the two leaders are expected to discuss ways to solidify the strategic partnership in various fields. in particular their discussions will center on the implementation of bilateral cooperative projects including the construction of the balkhash coal-fired power plant and a petrochemical complex in atyrau as well as the exploration of the zhambyl offshore oil fields.

the president then will visit turkmenistan on saturday to hold summit talks with president gurbanguly berdimuhamedow to discuss way to increase bilateral cooperation.

with this visit park will become the first korean president to ever visit turkmenistan. (qna)
