Indian Premier Modi in Bhutan for TwoDay Visit


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Imphu bhutan june 15 (qna) - narendra modi sunday arrived in bhutan's capital thimpu on his first official foreign visit after being sworn as prime minister of india last month.

modi will meet bhutan's king jigme khesar namgyel wangchuk and prime minister tshering tobgay during the two-day visit.

the two countries will explore ways to boost ties particularly in trade and hydro-electricity.

in his pre-departure statement modi said relations with bhutan will be a key foreign policy priority of his government.

"i am looking forward to my first-ever visit to bhutan and to nurturing and further strengthening india's special relations with bhutan" said modi.

bhutan and india share a very special relationship that has stood the test of time. thus bhutan was a natural choice for my first visit abroad he said. (qna)
