Siemens, Mitsubishi finalize Alstom joint offer


(MENAFN) According to sources, Germany's Siemens and Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries are finalizing a joint venture offer for French Alstom's, including a cash element of USD12.25 billion, The Peninsula Qatar reported. Siemens would acquire Alstom's gas turbines business while Mitsubishi would inject cash and industrial assets into a joint venture in steam turbines, the sources said. As part of the deal, Mitsubishi and the French government would take equal stakes in Alstom, acquiring a portion of the 29 percent holding of French group Bouygues.
