Spain to sell 49 percent of its airport operator


(MENAFN) Spain announced selling a stake of 49 percent of its state-owned airport operator AENA, The Peninsula Qatar reported. The Spanish Prime Minister's conservative government approved the long-delayed sale, which is worth around USD3.4 billion. AENA, which runs 46 airports and two heliports in Spain and another 15 airports abroad, most in Mexico, is worth about USD21.66 billion, while it carries a debt of more than USD14.89 billion. "Today we approved the launch of the operation," the minister for public works, Ana Pastor, told a news conference following the ministerial meeting put a rubber stamp on the deal.
