Preliminary meetings ahead of Arab Parliament in Cairo

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Preliminary meetings for upcoming Arab Parliament sessions kicked off in Cairo on Saturday, also aimed at preparing for a seminar on the "dangers to Arab national security." Arab Parliament sessions scheduled next Tuesday and Wednesday. Today's meetings were to follow up on previous sessions in preparation for Arab National Security Document, which will be prepared by the Arab Parliament ahead of Arab foreign ministers' meeting and prior to next Arab summit in Egypt, President of National Security, Political and Foreign Affairs Committee Musallam Al-Mashani said. The document comes also amid efforts by the Arab Parliament to shed light on the dangers threatening Arab national security, in addition to other dangers facing more than one Arab country, Al-Mashani said. Al-Mashani added the document would fully cover all aspects on the issue, including reasons behind the deteriorating situation and ways to confront it, stressing that after approval by Arab leaders such document will resemble a constitution for Arabs and dangers surrounding its national security. The committee member noted that an expanded seminar will take place next October in Cairo, to discuss the document and its repercussions by Arab specialists before transferring the document to Arab parliament for approval next November. Four other committee will also convene tomorrow to discuss various issues, among them education, social, women, youth, and the latest development in Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Libya, and Yemen, Al-Mashani added.
