(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) warned that Moscow would adopt all necessary measures to halt what it considered provocative acts of the Ukrainian troops along the southern borders of Russia.
The warming followed reported incursions by Ukrainian warplanes into the Russian airspace and the attacks by Ukrainian troops on Russian border towns in the recent days.
A Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet had reportedly penetrated the Russian airspace and flew over Kuybyshevo town on June 5.
A week later a Mi-8 helicopter violated Russia's airspace in the same area.
Yesterday two Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicles allegedly crossed the Russian borders near Yezerovo, Kuybyshevsky district, and then returned to Ukraine.
The MFA also demanded Ukraine "to take necessary measures for ensuring security of Russian diplomats in Kiev." It also placed a link to the live events at the Russian Embassy in Kiev on its Facebook page after Ukrainian protesters hurled stones and sour eggs on the embassy and destroys its windows.
The Russian TV channels aired a footage of the attacks on the embassy and blamed the Ukrainian security forces for inaction vis-a-vis the aggressive protesters.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on Washington, in a phone call with US Secretary of State John Kerry, to use its influence on Kiev to stop the provocations and advance the dialogue with representatives of the eastern regions of Ukraine.
He also called for creating the atmospheres necessary for successful talks on the Russian gas supplies to Ukraine, according to a statement by the MFA.
On the recent developments in Iraq and Syria, Lavrov and Kerry voiced profound concern over the serious deterioration of the security situations in the two Arab countries and highlighted the need to hold negotiations by all concerned parties, including the key regional players.
