in an attempt to stamp out reptiles and rodents which could lead to the outbreak of diseases and epidemics the dibba al hisn municipality launched a clean-up campaign in farms both abandoned and operational.
the drive was launched on sunday and will continue until all farms are completely devoid of agricultural waste.
talib abdullah safar director of dibba al hisn municipality said the campaign aims at upgrading the standard of cleanliness in the city and contribute to the development. the drive is part of the civic service authority’s aim to keep the city clean and spread awareness among people on the importance of cleaning up farms and other vacant land. it is a part of the national strategy and responsibility towards achieving sustainable development.
the head of the organising committee of the cleanup campaign mohammed abdullah said the drive was initiated to protect the city from the outbreak of diseases. he urged the public to contact the municipality on the hotline which works round the clock in case of any remarks on the campaign.
