Spain's inflation rate hits 0.2 percent in May


(MENAFN) Spain's annual inflation rate hit 0.2 percent in May, according to data of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), Xinhua reported. The inflation rate was 0.2 percent lower than that of the previous month, when prices increased 0.4 percent in the country. Prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks dipped by 0.8 percent compared to the same period a year earlier, led by lower prices of vegetables, potatoes and oils. Meanwhile, prices of hotels, coffees and restaurants increased by 0.5 percent in May, the INE said.
