(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) Cupied jerusalem june 12 (qna) - dozens of israeli extremist settlers on thursday morning stormed once again the al-aqsa mosque yards under the strict protection of israeli soldiers.

jewish settlers performed religious rituals and organised separate tours in the yards of the mosque but the mosque's guards intervened and prevented them from completing their provocative practices said mahmoud abul atta the media director of al aqsa foundation for waqf (endowments) and heritage in a statement issued here today.

earlier today the jewish settlers stormed today the municipality park of the west bank city of hebron located in the court of the ibrahimi mosque and attempted to tamper with its contents and facilities.

palestinian news agency (wafa) said that the settlers stormed the park and tried to forcibly set up sprinklers and water hoses inside it but staff of hebron awqaf department and residents prevented them from tampering in the park.

the head of the ibrahimi mosque custodians hijazi abu sneineh said the settlers brought with them a tractor for plowing the park's land.(qna)
