Britain's unemployment rate down 6.6 percent


(MENAFN) Data by the British Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed that unemployment rate in the country dipped to 6.6 percent in February-April period, Xinhua reported. The drop was 0.2 percent lower than the 6.8 percent registered in the first quarter of the year, marking the lowest level over the past five years. Figures showed that there were 2.16 million unemployed people in the three months to April, down 161,000 from the previous quarter. There were 30.54 million people in employment aged 16 and over, 345,000 employments higher than from November 2013 to January 2014, said ONS.
