“the directives of my brother president his highness shaikh khalifa bin zayed al nahyan are clear and inspiring for achieving integrated social development that includes all segments of society and in line with the requirements of each class so as to provide for the uae citizens all possible ways which qualify them to play an active role in promoting the march of success and prosperity of the country” shaikh mohammed said at the government creativity lab organised by the ministry of social affairs in dubai on tuesday.
shaikh mohammed said: “the consolidation of the culture of social development is the most important indicator of the cultural progress and prosperity of nations; there is no doubt that this requires a work methodology in line with the requirements of the future to enable all community groups to be more effective in the community.” he stressed that man is the centre of attention and on him hopes are pinned and by him ambitions are achieved therefore strengthening the system of social services comes at the forefront of priorities and strategies of the national action.
he added that the family is the nucleus of society the secret of its success and the core of its cohesion and interdependence and the empowerment of emirati family and preparing the ingredients of decent life for all its members is a necessity so as to ensure the stability of society. he praised the efforts of productive families and their awareness of the importance of their role to be a productive factor and an active tributary in the development process highlighting the need to provide all forms of support to these families so as to continue their active role in community building.
shaikh mohammed indicated that man in the uae is not a number to be added but he is the most important in the process of community building and the child is the main element in this process. he stressed the importance of developing different abilities of children since their early years of childhood and promotion of communication and interaction between them on the one hand and their families and community on the other considering investment in early childhood is the state’s real investment.
shaikh mohammed also asserted that the attention the uae gives to promote children’s rights is inseparable from its civilised vision concerning human rights in general; it is a comprehensive and integrated vision which includes all segments of society men and women children and youth workers with disabilities and others. he added that this vision is not only restricted to one side without the other but it rather focuses on economic social and cultural aspects as its primary objective is the welfare of the uae citizens to enjoy developed living levels in accordance with the highest international standards.
he urged participants in the laboratory on the need to adopt creative ideas in the delivery of social services and work according to modern effective programmes that ensure stability of the emirati family and provide all its members with a decent life. he said: “these are your brothers and kinsfolk we want you to adopt innovation and creativity as an approach in your work and to compete among yourselves to deliver to them high-quality and ultra-fast effective results.”
“our journey in the next stage in the field of government action in general and in the field of social services in particular necessitates that we work hard to get to the future before it comes to us and to draw to ourselves our paths and define our objectives in the light of a clear vision; and this requires us not to settle only on people’s expectations but rather to move beyond them to reach stronger and more effective performance levels to provide services in a manner that is easy and convenient to all dealers with the ministry and its offices in various parts of the country and to the same extent of efficiency speed and high professionalism so as to make these services easy and accessible” he added.
shaikh mohammed was accompanied by shaikh maktoum bin mohammed bin rashid al maktoum deputy ruler of dubai; mohammed abdullah al gergawi minister of cabinet affairs; mariam khalfan al roumi social affairs minister; and khalifa saeed suleiman dubai director of protocol and hospitality.
shaikh mohammed earlier directed all federal government bodies to adopt the ‘government creativity lab’ experiment as an official and standardised practice that aims to develop government services overcome practical challenges and enhance performance and competency of government administrative procedures.
shaikh mohammed’s directives followed the outstanding success of the first trial of the ‘government creativity lab’ during the uae cabinet retreat held recently at sir bani yas.
the lab discussed ideas and suggestions received from experts officials and professionals to produce immediate solutions for the challenges hindering education and healthcare sectors in the uae.
