Oman LNG signs two pacts to support welfare activities


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman LNG on Wednesday signed two agreements to commit over RO85,000 to support the Omani Network of Volunteers and the Directorate General of Education in Musandam.

A press release stated that the first agreement with Omani Network of Volunteers was signed by its general coordinator Yahya bin Rahi al Balushi and Khalid bin Abdullah al Massan, chief corporate affairs officer at Oman LNG, with a number of representatives from the National Youth Committee (NYC) in attendance.

As part of this agreement, the company will fund the ‘Ruwad al Ataa' initiative to train 100 volunteers in South Sharqiyah governorate.

‘This programme is aimed at promoting the concept of voluntary work and encouraging Omani youth to take part in such activities by shaping their skills and talents through a two-year training programme.'

Balushi was quoted in the release as saying, ''This accord with Oman LNG marks our first collaboration with the private sector which will reflect positively towards the development of the society and volunteers in South Sharqiyah.''

Saud al Siyabi, a member of NYC, valued the initiative and said that the committee supports efforts to promote youth talent.

The second pact was signed by Dr Mohammed bin Shams al Hosni, director general of Education in Musandam and Massan on behalf of Oman LNG.

The pact will see the company support special education programme in schools in the governorate to provide a better environment for students with special needs and learning difficulties. ‘Oman LNG will facilitate the purchase of nine interactive boards and 33 laptops which will aid in developing the students to be self-reliant throughout their learning process.'
