(MENAFN - Arab News) Saudi arabia and jordan jointly sought to further enhance economic cooperation when their respective delegations met here on wednesday for the 14th saudi-jordan joint committee at the riyadh chamber of commerce and industry (rcci).
jordanian minister of industry trade and supply hatem halawani who headed the visiting delegation called for greater cooperation from both sides in all fields to bolster bilateral ties.
heading the saudi side at the joint committee meeting transport minister jabara al-seraisry described the relationship between the two historical trade partner as valuable.
discussing the bilateral trade relations the joint committee meeting attended by business groups and investors from both sides called for making concerted efforts to further enhance cooperation through the promotion of trade and ommerce between two countries.
they wanted whatever challenges to be converted into opportunities by overcoming difficulties.
the delegation accompanying the jordanian minister also held talks with saudi businessmen and discussed ways and means of enhancing economic trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
the two ministers also exchanged ideas on enhancing mutual cooperation during their cordial talk at the rcci and underlined the need to work on new areas of cooperation and opportunities.
jamal al-shamayleh jordanian ambassador in riyadh also attended the meeting.
a member of the joint delegation requesting anonymity said the joint meeting would also explore the possibility of strengthening ties in the area of rail networks and cooperation between the two countries' maritime authorities.
