(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The ninth edition of Food and Hospitality Oman event is set to be held from September 9 to 11 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.

The annual trade show, recognised as the landmark food and hospitality event in Oman, will showcase the industry's continuous development and expansion a comprehensive networking, education, and entertainment platform. Food and Hospitality Oman is anticipated to be the biggest edition to date with the participation of companies from Thailand, which is a first for the event, and the confirmation of Italian companies.

The presence of these international companies will be further boosted by the participation of companies from Turkey, Egypt, Malaysia, Spain and Iran, lending testimony to a well-established show that has enjoyed its ''UFI-approved event'' status since 2010. ''Most of the industry's important segments, such as food supplies, which spur the requirement for food packaging, value and luxury retail outlets, shopping malls, new hotels, and hypermarkets, are in great demand especially at this time.

The industry is full of business opportunities and this is what we are offering to the trade,'' said Ammar Ahmad, exhibition manager for Food and Hospitality Oman. ''After the successful launch of the Oman Barista Competition in 2013, and in keeping with the custom of providing an educational- cum-entertainment feature to the show, the event will once again showcase and test the skills of Oman's finest baristas.

This will pave the way for similar talent and skill platforms and will also be vital to the advancement of the hospitality sector, as we are bringing in opportunities to food and coffee producers, manufacturers, distributors, importers, and retailers,'' Ahmad added. The government's prioritising of tourism and inward investment, as well as intensifying efforts to construct billion-dollar tourism-related property development and airport projects are factors that augur well for the food, retail and hospitality markets
