(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) As many as 50 international experts will attend the third European and Asian Breast Cancer Congress which will be held in Muscat from October 28 to 31.
A press release stated that the conference is held annually in Europe and Asia and discusses issues like prevention of breast cancer, early detection and treatment.
It will also discuss research collaboration between European and Asian countries.'
Oman will be the first Arab country to host this conference which will be attended by Professor Umberto Veronesi, former Italian minister of health and the founder of Eurama society, and Professor Peter Boyle, president of International Prevention and Research Institute.
The release stated that the conference will cover all aspects of breast cancer including epidemiology, early detection, radiology, histopathology, radiation and medical oncology, surgery, reconstructive surgery and psychology.
It will have two workshops, one related to training of resident doctors while the second will be about nurses' convention and a scientific programme.
Dr Adil al Ajmi, senior consultant, breast reconstructive surgeon, breast unit, department of surgery, Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, was quoted in the release as saying, ''I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the support of Sultan Qaboos University, The Research Council, the Ministry of Health, Oman Medical Specialty Board and H E Paola Amadei, Ambassador of Italy to Oman.''<
