(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) reviewed the findings of the Master Plan 2014-2030 on Tuesday, at Crowne Plaza Muscat.
Eng Ali Said al Hadabi, CEO, OETC, said, ''The last decade saw rapid growth in the private and public sectors, and there is need for more power in the future. The study explores options to channelise power in the country.''
Hadabi said the next step will be to draw a roadmap to implement the findings of the study. ''We are looking at the prospects of entering into joint ventures with the UAE and Iran,'' he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Adil al Busaidi, asset management and planning department manager at OETC said the study will be a tool for long-term planning in the power sector. ''The main aim of the study was to avoid costly reworks and upgrades. The study has also identified areas of potential growth.''
More than 200 people attended the event and discussed the findings of the study conducted for over one and a half years
