UAE and China to boost trade investment


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Juma mohammed al kait assistant undersecretary for foreign trade affairs at the ministry of economy received a high ranking chinese trade delegation headed by yang yasong vice-chairman of liaoning province federation of industry and commerce.

the discussions held in the ministry of economy’s offices in dubai focused on potential growth opportunities in trade and investment in the two countries and explored ways to improve communication between the business communities of the uae and china.

recalling the historical uae-china relations juma mohammed al kait underscored the uae’s continued interest in reinforcing its strong partnership with various chinese provinces through increasing cooperation in areas of investment and trade. al kait stressed the vital role of the private sector in the consolidation of bilateral trade.

al kait also highlighted the rapid growth in mutual trade underlining the strategic economic relationship that the uae shares with china. the volume of trade between the two countries climbed to over $17 billion at the end of 2012. in addition to hosting a large number of chinese companies the uae is also home to 356 chinese commercial agencies with 2483 chinese trademarks registered with the ministry of economy.
