UAE to open embassy in Cuba consulate in Toronto

the uae will open embassies in cuba angola and mozambique and a general consulate in toronto city in canada.

this was decided at a federal cabinet meeting chaired by his highness shaikh mohammed bin rashid al maktoum vice-president and prime minister of the uae and ruler of dubai at the presidential palace here on monday.

other cabinet decisions

at the meeting held in the presence of lt-general shaikh saif bin zayed al nahyan deputy prime minister and minister of interior; and shaikh mansour bin zayed al nahyan deputy prime minister and minister for presidential affairs the cabinet approved an agreement between the uae and serbia and montenegro on mutual exemption of pre-visa requirements for diplomats. an agreement between the governments of the uae and lithuania on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion on taxes income and capital was also approved.

a memorandum for concluding the third session of the 15th legislative chapter of the federal national council was also approved. the cabinet endorsed the reorganisation of the board of directors of the national transport authority to be chaired by minister of public work dr abdullah bin mohammed belhaif al nuaimi. chairman of the department of transport. shaikh sultan bin tahnoun al nahyan chairman of the board and executive director of the roads and transport authority (rta) mattar mohammed al tayer director-general of sharjah transports yousuf saleh al suwiaji director of the fujairah crown prince’s office salem mohammed al zahmi acting director-general of federal customs authority khalid ali al bustani ahmed mohammed al hammadi and a representative from the public works ministry will be the other members of board.
