Sudan's inflation rises to 41.2 percent in May

(MENAFN) The Central Statistics Office said that Sudan saw a rise in its annual inflation in May reached 41.2 percent, according to the Peninsula Qatar. Prices in Sudan boosted since South Sudan seceded in 2011, taking with it three-quarters of the state's oil output. The Central Statistics Office said that the monthly rise was due to "an increase in the prices of food and beverages in May." The office also added that in April, annual inflation was running at 37.7 percent.
