Algerian, French FMs meet in Algiers


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra Sunday held talks with his French opposite number Laurent Fabius, who is in Algeria on a two-day visit. The two sides will assess the different issues which form their bilateral agenda along with regional and international affairs of mutual significance, according to an Algerian Foreign Ministry statement. They will also discuss means to increase cooperation in the field of education, through launching a new joint university programme funded by both nations. Fabius arrived in the country accompanied by a delegation of local senior diplomats, lawmakers and around 20 businessmen. The visit comes in accordance with a bilateral agreement, signed in late 2013, which ushers in the formation a high-level joint government committee and regular talks at the level of premiers, foreign ministers and secretaries-general. According to a source, the two countries also look forward to increasing their partnership on forming specialised schools in industrial economics and industrial business management.
