(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini visited the headquarters of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in Naqoura town, south Lebanon, on Sunday.
She inspected her country's battalion in the multi-national peacekeeping force in Sham'e town and commended the role of the 1,089-strong Italian force in maintaining calm along the Blue Line between Lebanon and Israel.
Mogherini reviewed the implementation of the UNIFIL mandate under the Security Council resolution 1701 of 2006.
She started her visit to Lebanon on Thursday before leaving for Jordan and come back to Beirut today. She held talks with Lebanese politicians including leader of the Progressive Socialist Party Waleed Jumblatt.
