China's Exports Up 7% in May


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Ijing june 08 (qna) - china's exports went up 7% year on year to 195.47 billion us dollars in may customs data showed on sunday.

but imports were down 1.6% to 159.55 billion us dollars and total foreign trade volume increased by 3% to 355.02 billion us dollars the general administration of customs (gac) said.

the combined foreign trade volume in the first five months saw a year-on-year growth of 0.2% to 1.68 trillion us dollars according to the gac data.

trade balance realized a surplus of 35.92 billion us dollars in may china's news agency (xinhua) reported.

exports decreased by 0.4% and imports went up 0.8% during the period while the trade surplus stood at 71.3 billion us dollars.

china set a trade growth target of 7.5% this year lower than the 8% goal for 2013 and last year's actual expansion of 7.6%. (qna)
