Khartoum says Egyptian investment in Sudan to amount to USD 8.7 bln


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Sudanese Investment Minister Mustafa Othman Ismail said Saturday Egyptian investment in Sudan would amount to USD 8.7 billion. Speaking at a ceremony to place the foundation stone of an Egyptian pharmaceutical company, Ismail said around USD one billion of Egyptian investment were registered in Sudan between 2000 and 2014. Sudan hopes over USD seven billion of Egyptian investment would be executed in future, he said. Ismail said the Egyptian people were taking solid strides towards the implementation of the roadmap, the latest of which was the election of the president, to enable their country regain its leading role in the Arab and African regions. He called on Egyptian investors to exploit the economic opportunities in Sudan.
