Oman govt revenues decline 7


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The sultanate's government revenues fell by seven per cent to RO3.21bn at the end of March 2014, from RO3.46bn in the corresponding period of 2013, according to the statistics published by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI). 

This drop has been attributed to a 4.7 per cent decline in the sultanate's net oil revenues, which stood at RO2.59bn at the end of March 2014 against RO2.71bn during the corresponding period in 2013, as well as a 1.8 per cent slip in gas revenues to RO363.2mn, against RO370mn by the end of March 2013.

Capital revenues fell by 45.6 per cent to RO2.8mn at the end of March 2014, against RO5.2mn a year ago. Corporate income tax declined by 90 per cent to reach RO13.8mn. Other revenues rose by 7.8 per cent to RO247.5mn from RO229.6mn. Customs-duty revenue increased by 100 per cent to RO200,000.

The government's total general expenditure rose by 2.9 per cent at the end of March 2014 to RO2.6bn, against RO2.53bn in the corresponding period of last year.
