Britain's trade deficit up to USD4.2b in April


(MENAFN) According to the British Office for National Statistics (ONS), the country's trade deficit in goods and services was forecasted to hit USD4.2 billion in April, Xinhua reported. The estimated April deficit is significantly bigger than March's USD1.49billion, ONS said. Data showed that Britain registered a USD13.1 billion deficit in goods trade, and an estimated surplus of USD9.66 billion on services during April. Exports of goods decreased by 4.4 percent between March and April to USD31.8 billion, while imports of goods edged up by 0.8 percent to USD44.9 billion.
