exports increased by 3% in april following two consecutive months of decline. exports declined 1.8 and 1.3 in march and february respectively while total exports climbed a calendar-and-seasonally adjusted 3.0% monthly in april following a 1.8% decline in march and 1.3% fall in february.
economists had forecast a 1.3% growth in april. meanwhile imports edged up 0.1% in april following a 1.1% drop registered in the previous month. (qna)
