(MENAFN - Arab News) The eastern province basketball league the first and only recognized overseas member of the samahang basketbol ng pilipinas inc. (sbp) in saudi arabia has struck a partnership with fahd alireza engineering consultants for the 5th gcc all filipino basketball club championship to be held in bahrain last week of july.

faec signed a three-day basketball tournament sponsorship and will banner epbl-saudi arabia delegation to compete against the star players of qatar abu dhabi dubai oman and bahrain.

faec owned by fahd alireza has enjoyed a positive and successful tournament. edward francis hr manager said: 'faec will also continue and delighted to be supporting epbl's tournament".

epbl commissioner jun sanchez was pleased with faec support. 'fahd alireza continues to bring tremendous enthusiasm to our association we are overwhelmed to be extending and strengthening our tournament and we look forward to a more exciting and engaging projects focused at basketball community in the region" said sanchez.

meantime deep into the epbl 2014 1st conference faec was on top of the standings and kept itself in the hunt for the centerpiece premiere league title with a 4-2 win-loss record after routing undermanned npc squad 97-77 at ettifaq club here on friday.

neil aclan scattered 16 points and rolly bisda had a game high 14 points off the bench for the consultants. mathew carney and george spaulding added 11 points apiece with all faec players scoring not less than four points for the win.

in the other game issam kabbani stamped its dominance against zamil spurs 89-74. saipem snamprogetti notched itsr first win 80-77 against arabian point eighth power (apep) company and kept its hopes alive for a playoff berth in the intercompany b division. the star saipem team turned back acbi tankers 87-73. panda won against al iman 88-71 while faec league b team won against royal pinkyz 78-73. metal recycling mill won against national steel company 55-53 in tuwairqi cup division.
