(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) general assembly elected China's Yu Zaiqing as Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Vice President, after its extraordinary meeting headed by ANOC President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah on Wednesday. During the session, Sheikh Ahmad, also the OCA president, said that Zaiqing was the only candidate for the post who was unanimously elected by the council's member countries, adding that the general assembly also elected Saudi Arabia's Mohammad Al-Mas'hil as president of the education committee for the council, replacing his late compatriot, Mohammad Al-Haryul. The council also authorized the ANOC and OCA chief to complete all pending issues regarding Hanoi's request to be relieved from hosting the 2019 Asian Olympic Games due to organizing and financial issues. The council's general assembly also authorized Sheikh Ahmad to openly take a decision concerning negotiations with countries that wish to host the continental event instead.
