Saudi- Civil Defense rescues 12 sailors and swimmer
(MENAFN- Arab News) The official spokesman of the border
guards col. khalid bin khalifa al-arqoobi said that naval patrols rescued 12 sailors who were stranded in the middle of the sea off alkhobar last weekend because their boat's engine stalled.
he said that the half moon bay naval patrol in alkhobar also saved an indian resident from drowning at al-mahar beach.
according to him the man was suffering from fatigue and too exhausted to swim back to the shore. 'the patrol reached him in time and provided first-aid treatment. he is all right now" he added.
in a similar incident jubail's operation room received a report about a drowning saudi citizen.
'search and rescue patrols were immediately dispatched to the location. however the man was very lucky to be rescued by his family who were nearby. he was transferred to hospital for treatment" al-arqoobi said.
